Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, August 2010 — Wine importer J Soif, Inc., has made public the newest release in its range of Yellow+Blue certified organic wines. They are also helping promote the new greenmarket at the World Financial Center in New York City.

The 2009 Malbec from Argentina’s San Juan Province rounds out the brand’s offerings for the 2009 vintage, which includes a Sauvignon Blanc, a Torrontes and a Rosé. We are told that Yellow+Blue celebrates a high impact on the palate, with fine wine sourced from organic vineyards, and low impact on the planet, with its commitment to eco-friendly practices.

The 2009 Malbec is created from 100% certified organic, estate-grown fruit from one of only two certified biodynamic wineries in South America. The experts tell us this 2009 vintage in San Juan was pristine, as abundant sun and little rain resulted in optimum ripening. All harvesting is done by hand, with a strict triage, or sorting process, performed before de-stemming and crushing. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel with indigenous yeast.

“For our 2009 Yellow+Blue Malbec, the main difference is in the palate” said President and Founder Matt Cain. “We crafted our own blend from a number of different parcels for this vintage, resulting in an exceptional wine with slightly more color and richness.”

The Malbec is a medium- to full-bodied wine with fine tannins and a lingering, complex finish. The profound purple color of the wine flecks with hints of persimmon, while its bouquet swirls with heady aromas of black cherries, chocolate and garrigue. It is a perfect complement to garlic and fennel dishes, and yet also adaptable enough to stand up grilled meats and sausages, hard cheese and Italian fare.

The wine is packaged in Tetra Pak cartons, made from 75% paper that is harvested from responsibly managed forests. The “Paks” weigh significantly less than glass bottles, greatly reducing transportation costs and carbon emissions. The Tetra Pak contains a full liter of wine, giving consumers the luxury of 33% more wine than a bottle at a lower price point.

Yellow+Blue 2009 Malbec is now available at specialty wine shops and upscale grocery stores for $12/liter.

Imported by J. Soif, Inc., Yellow+Blue is proof that exceptional imported wine can travel the world without damaging the planet. Certified organic, Yellow+Blue wine takes advantage of earth-friendly lightweight Tetra Pak cartons that cost significantly less to ship and leave a smaller carbon footprint than glass bottles.

The company is doing even more good by pledging 1% of sales to microlender Kiva.org to help support individual entrepreneurs in some of the world’s poorest countries. Not to mention, they are also the only carbon-neutral U.S. wine importer. For more information and where to purchase Yellow+Blue wines, please visit www.ybwines.com.
